... sent me packing.

I have a simple set of JKS discos that should mount to the sway bar and spring plate in place of the oem link that is currently mounted.

I removed the 3/4" nuts from the top and bottom. The bottom of the link will come off the spring plate, but, I can't get the top to come off. Is there something special to removing the link from the post mounted to the sway bar?

Thanks

just take a pry bar and a hammer and force it off of there.
the bushing is probably seized up on the shaft.

I don't know what year you have but on my 83 the stud comes out of the sway bar and stays with the link.

That's how mine looks ... I have an '83 ... I can seem to get the stud out of the sway bar. Is the stud threaded into the sway bar or should I be able to knock it out. I assume I will be replacing the link with the Disco onto the stud and mounting it back in the sway bar. Seems simple enough.

You should be able to use a pickle fork to get it out. It is tapered like a tie rod end. I just replaced mine on an 83 CJ7 .

Sounds good ... I will try that.

Pickle fork worked !!!

I'm concerned that the disco's didn't line up evenly .. with one connected, the other was at least an inch from connecting. I used a crowbar to push down on the sway bar to get to where I could insert the connect. Doesn't seem like these will be QUICK disconnects, or should I say quick RECONNECTS.

Was the Jeep on level ground?
You should look at your frame brackets and and also the sway bar bushings. On level ground they should be close.
I use adjustable links (JKS) they come with a tapered attachment link bar so that they can be pushed on or off very easy if the vehicle is not exactly level.
