Which would be a more noticable improvement. I've got a manual brake master cylinder and "all drum" brakes. I know if I installed both a power booster w/mc conversion and front disk brakes, it would a great improvement. I can't afford both at the same time, so I'd like a little advice from the "experts". Thanks-in-advance.:D

IMHO I wouldn't run disc's without having a power boster, so I say power first and than the disc's later.

x100....... also take a look at the YJ and XJ boosters they are better than the CJ boosters :chug:

I'll buck the trend my CJ5 had factory disk brakes and manual brakes and it stopped as good as power breaks. I think disc stops better than drum weather the are power or not. IMO

Mtn,

:)I would agree........CJ5 30-33 inch tires they stop just fine. No surprises!

Yup I used to stall alot. I like manual with discs. Discs are way better when wet. Then put discs on the rear. You will say "Why did I wait so long".

Thanks for all the responses. I've looked at the power booster at Morris Off Road, and the Vanco version. Since I haven't had the chance to remove the stock MC, I don't know for sure if the bore is 1" or 1 1/8". Apparently, that makes a difference with the Morris one. Vanco, although more expensive, doesn't mention the bore size. I will follow up with front disk brakes next. I'm not too keen on mixing/adapting the us measurement scheme to metric (it is much cheaper to execute this mod).

Here is another place to check.

Thanks "Purple77CJ7", that's alot cheaper!. The booster will be my next mod, then the front disk brakes & new proportioning valve, then.......
