Does anybody have experiance with the eateon e locker in a Dana 30 front axle?

Or does anybody know how the locker will do when the battery is dead an no electricity is on board? will it stay locked (when locked) , or go in a unlock mode by themselves?
I am visiting the US next week, so I am thinking of a little present for myself to bring back to Germany :-)

Thanks
Frank

We have them front and rear, Dana 30 and 44. Battery power to a switch that energizes a relay that locks the locker. No power and they will not stay locked. Electro magnet operation.

That will be an interesting item to go through security with!

Have fun while you are here and safe journey back home. :chug:

I installed 2 of these when they first came out. They are very well made with first class components.
Do NOT wire the power supply directly to the battery, because when the engine is off-The locker stays powered and will drain the battery overnight.

Interesting question. I can't help but wonder, if your vehicle looses it's electrical power, unless it a diesel, it won't run. No run, no need for a locker. If the locker looses power it will work the same as an open differential. It is likely that you will have to pay import fees when going into Germany. These things are big and heavy so nobody is going to miss that you have it.

If you had to push or tow the vehicle with a dead battery it would make a big difference if the front stayed locked. That's what makes sense, his question, his reasons.. If there were no lock out hubs of course…
