engine and transmission swap

engine and transmission swap
roanoke, Virginia
1979 cj7 258 with a t-150 3 speed, 31x 10.50's but soon to be 33's . Stock all the way around for the most part. UPDATE : Now have my Goodyear 33's on it and it looks great !
I have a inline 258 with a T-150 tranny , my question is which v8 swap will take the least to modify and still use the existing tranny and differential if any?
I would go with a 304 V8. They often came with a T-150 tranny and it should fit without too much trouble. If you can find a 304 from a jeep get the bell-housing too.
