I have been trying to figure out what year engine I have in my jeep. I believe based on the engine build code (105c13) my block was build may 13 1981 and the C is 2bbl. The drivers side has (BLef0235 444) on it and I'm not sure what that is.The head has (83) stamped on it so I assume it is an 1983 head. The intake has (DH 3225202-1 )and (5-8-78) stamped on it and has the Carter 1bbl carb. on it so I trust it is the original intake. I'm not sure on the rest. How can I tell which Transfer Case , Transmission , front and rear differentials ? They all appear to be original but based on the engine I can't say.

How many cylinders does the engine have? Six? It may be a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . More info here: http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f105/six-cylinder-engines-12504/#post100059

This is an AMC20 rear end: More info here:http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f105/cj-axles-12186/#post97663

And this looks like a Dana 20 TCase. More info here: http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f105/transfer-cases-12108/#post97070 A Dana 300 looks similar but the Dana 20 shift levers are held on with a tubular bar sticking out the front of the TCase.

Based on your 105c13 my 1978 spec book says: 1 = 1977, 05 = 5th month, c = AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 2V 8.0:1 compression, 13 = 13th day of month
