My 360 is pulled and need a new oil pump cover. They are asking to specify year range. Where on the block would this info be?

Someone on here may correct me, but I think that all the 360's had a block casting number on the top at the back, but all of them from 1970 thru 1990 had the same number which was 3195528. However, if the engine still has the original heads on it, you can pull the valve covers and there is another casting mark on the top of the heads that will denote the year of manufacture. Here is a link that will reference those numbers to the actual year of production.

hope this helps....

Thanks. Pretty sure heads are og. Just had them blasted so reading should be easy. Thanks for the link!

Casting came to this on the chart. 78? Then it says order parts for a 72. What year do I order for a block part
