I can't stay on the trail.
My friends say there is a nut behind the wheel that can cause erratic steering, weave, wander and all kinds of other steering problems.
I have checked everything I can think of but I can't find anything loose.

If you haven't placed a brace on your steering box, I can just about guarantee that your steering box brackets are cracked and flexing.

This is a common problem on the CJ's especially with large tires. Your 35" are just the ticket.

The best fix is to installed a aftermarket mount. Here is a link to a very nice set-up:

RockTite Metal Fabrication

If you haven't looked at your steering box mount brackets I highly recommend you do it soon. A total bracket failure will mean losing the steering on your rig....NOT GOOD

lmao now thats funny.

I have a TJ but I will tell you that when I found out my worm gear was shot, that stopped my chasing the front end when I replaced my steering box. I have also herd of the bracked breaking on the CJ's and the after marked bracket will fix it as well.

Get an alignment. See what it says and adjust from there.

I think I'm the nut they were talking about.

theres a nut on the front of your steering box under the bumper see if theres any adj left or if the box needs rebuild

So.....this thread kind of went down like the Hindenburg huh Dave? :D
Good analogy except the Hindenburg went down in 2 minutes.
I think it's time for this thread to go away too.
