So sa you can is from my profile. We have a 80 CJ5 with stock AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l cu in engine.
Simplicity under the hood is my desire. so what's left of the air pump tubes is still in place. I would like to install a header, but after market headers are expensive. I have a buddy wiith a 97 TJ and noticed it has a factory header. So my question is will any of the post 80 exhaust manifolds fit my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ? I also would like to find an aluminum intake as well, but retain the carter 2bbl carb.
Ideas anyone?

On eBay you can find used Clifford intake manifolds for $AMC 150 .

Used headers aren't so good cause they rust big-time and crack.

AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and 4.0 heads are different. Both intake and headers.
