No such creature my friend. I thought the same thing myself. Alot of times the whole exhaust system was loosend up by a broken hangar or such. When that happens the wieght of the system is placed on the pipe coming directly off the manifold. That causes the pipe to get "egg" shaped at that point causing that ticking your probably hearing. Or your bolts into the manifold may be loose. If thats the case proceed with caution , they break easily. Id rather work them out and replace them then bust one off tightening it.
Thanks Pete! I just figured there has to be something, but metal to metal doesnt surprize me, seen that on my 70 road runners manifolds to the head, but still installed some Felpro gaskets between them. Thanks again Rick
