exhaust gasket? 82 cj 258

This is probably a dumb question, but here goes. Is there a "donut" or flat gasket between the pipe flange and bottom of the exhaust manifold? Is this assembly just metal to metal? No parts books list a gasket or donut for my 82 cj w/ a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l Thanks in advance Rick
