I was thinking about this today. It is obvious that there is a pretty large number of CJ7s still on the road in the US. I however, recently bought a '81 CJ7 here in Germany and according to its VIN it was built for the export market although as far as I can tell the only real construction difference between mine and US spec CJ7s is the reflector pattern in the headlights.
Does anybody know how many CJ7s were built for export? I can't find that answer anywhere. I imagine that would make mine worth even more when i eventually take it back to the US with me.
