Hello all,

Wondering if anyone on here has a set of the factory forged aluminum wheels found on the ‘76 Jeep CJ7 Renegade they’d be willing to part with or know of someone selling a set. I’m working on restoring my Jeep and have not had much luck in finding a set.

Thanks.

I can't say I have ever seen a factory forged aluminum wheel on a CJ they were all steel either white or chrome.

My 71 Ren 2 and my 79 Silver Anniversary came from the factory with aluminum 5 slot rims.

It sucks getting old, now I do remember there being aluminum wheels from the factory I need to learn to just be quiet.

Hey don't worry. That was last century. A long time ago. Sometimes I forgot what I had for dinner yesterday.

Yes, no worries, besides I was only half correct on my last post.
Yes, my Ren 2 came with aluminum slots, but my Sliver Anniversary came with chrome wagon wheels.
To expand, the Ren 2 is the first year ('71) offered with American Racing aluminum "D" slot rims that ran through I believe '75. The 76-79 Renegades came with American Racing aluminum "sausage" slots.
I believe the 79 Silver Anniversary is the only year they came with chrome wagon wheels "without" mounting holes for center caps.

Edit: This is my Ren2 wheel

That's funny I say that all the time. "you think I remember that heck I don't even remember what I had for dinner last night" :)

Two different styles....the style on the Renegade I and II's in 1970 & 1971, then the different style on the Renegades 1972 - 1976. Here is my '76.

I’d like to see a photo of the 70 “D” slot rims.
I believe the D slots came out in 71 and ran at least until 73.
If you look at the ads in my post the 72-73 Renegade came with the same D slot rims. Same ones as the 71.

One more

I have 5 D slots that I'd be willing to sell and can get 2 more. They are 1971 only, and Renegade II package only, in great shape. 15x7 D shaped slot, with mag style lug nut holes, valve stem recessed back in one of the holes, they have a lip around the outer edge (where a wheel weight would go) and no lip around the bolt circle.
They have "American Racing Equipment" cast into the back and '71.

All the other Renegade wheels were different these are just 1971 Renegade 2. Even though some ads show them on other years they were not factory options in this exact wheel.
