factory leaf springs

Can anyone confirm the leaf pack for a 80 CJ7 .

My older CJ5 w/v8 had factory springs with 6 leafs front and back. I am looking for a stock set for my new project and I found a CJ5 w/6 cyl but it only has 4 leafs per pack.

Morris 4x4 shows 6 leafs for light duty and 9 for heavy duty.

Did the V8s have a stronger spring?? This donor CJ5 appears to be riding very low.

Good luck. I have two complete sets of stock leaf spring packs for CJ's. I picked up one set when I thought I was going to do the SOA thing (unknown year of CJ they came off of). The other set I took off my brother's '86 CJ7 with an inline 6 cylinder when we installed his 4" lift. In both sets of springs, all of the 2-1/2" wide spring packs have 6 leaves and all of the 2" wide spring packs have 4 leaves. Hopefully someone on here will have a stock setup close to what you should have (same year, engine and stock springs) and will be able to give you their info.

My stock 79 CJ7 has 4 front and rear. My quess would be that 4 or 6 was stock for the V8 model. Rod
