well i got one to go to today. my daughter and i told the wife that we are taking the jeep. some of the people that are going to be there were there when i first got the jeep and said it was a lost cause two years ago. it dont run and it should go to the junkyard is what some of them said. this is at my inlaws where the jeep sat for years. so we are going to take it today to show it off. maybe ill take some of them for a ride lol.

A man after my own heart!

I once had a guy question the owner ship of a vehicle that had more money value as parts. I asked if he had ever heard the expression "if I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand". He said he had and I replied that this was just one thing on a very long list that I didn't think he would ever be able to understand.

as soon as i got there everyone flocked to it and was like wow you done alot of work to it. put a big ol smile on my face :D they were like all you need is a tub, fenders, and paint job. i said thats it plus tires.

I bet your heart was in your shirt pocket as the pride showed off
you got it running and in better shape than any of them could
I love it
I showed up for a camp out with my 70 2 years ago, I had just got it, It was gasping for gas and kept dieing, but it was a CJ6 and I was fiercely proud I had found one with the options I wanted. So now when I show up, yes it needs a paint job, but it rumbles though the glass packs as it pulls in, Sitting on 33s with a nice lift job. drive line is all rebuilt and yes it needs a paint job, everyone wants a ride down the trails and talks about where they have ridden in it as we went over this or that. and yes it needs a paint job.
but I will not give it one, I am too proud of it how it is, rough and more ready for a trail than a brand new Hummer.
Got to love the fact you just showed everyone of them up.
with something they cannot understand, your hard work and your handy craft, that is what a CJ is all about.
:censored: you made us all proud

they popped the hood and was like dam. i took all the hoses and :dung: that wasnt need out and cleaned the engine bay up. then they where like thats not the stock carb. i was like nope its off a ford v8. the funny thing is it started a 2 hour talk about cars for all the guys that where there. heard some funny stories from them. most of the people that where there i see like twice a year.

I love this. Glad you could rub their noses in it a bit. Wonder how many of them are thinking "Dam I shouldve grabbed that Jeep" :D I think your a great example for alot of new Cj owners. Your knowledge has grown by leaps and bounds since you picked up that CJ5 . Well done. Now about that tub... ;)
