I purchased a 1983 CJ7 . The body and chassis is in great condition. No rust or body damage. The po installed a AMC 304 basically stock. It has HEI ignition, Headman headers and runs good. It has AMC20 rear, T-4 , Dana 300 transfer with Dana 30 front. They also bought new Red Dirt Road 18inch wheels with 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers. This jeep will not get out of it's own way!!
It has been lifted, but I do not know what type of lift it is. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will. I believe it has 272 gears. I test drove and could not control over 30 mph. The sway bars are off and the caster looks neutral or negative. My plans are to have Dana 44 rear with disc brakes, T-176 Transmission with rebuilt Dana 30 front with 373 gears. I would like to be able to drive distance and still off road mildly. Confused on sway bars. New to forum so any help with posts and opinions is appreciated.
