Got my 81 CJ in the garage and prepping for the lift.

Got my self the BDS 4" suspension lift.
Daystar .5" poly shackles
Daystar 1" body mounts
Also throwing on some 35 12.5 16.5 BF T/A on H1 rims.

If anyone is interested I will post pics as I go. :)

Exactly how I want to go with my 86. Currently riding on 3" body lift installed by PO. Can't wait! Are you going with yj springs?

Looking foward to pictures and details on how it went or how it is going.

I currently have a 2" body lift from PO. I am taking those off!
Nope on the YJ springs. I am going with the 4" BDS CJ7 . I'll let ya know how it works out.

That's pretty much the lift characteristics of my CJ....4" springs, ½" on the shackles (YJ), and 1.25" body lift.
It's a lot of lift, and you need to pay special attention to brake lines and make sure your drivelines can handle the extra stretch. Unfortunately, you will probably need to drop the xfercase to get rid of vibration...a better solution is a CV driveline, but dropping the case will do. You will also need longer shocks.

If you are planning on replacing the stock pitman arm, I would be interested in buying it. Let me know.

It'll be interesting to see those tires on it. Hope you have 1 pc. axles installed.

We'll after a day or two going at it. We have it everything but put back together (sorry for the no pics)

Had to weld the axle tube in the rear back up. PO installed a Dana 44 and cut thru the axle tube when moving the spring perches out.

Everything else went pretty smooth. Minus BDS sending the degree shims separated from the springs. Albeit they at least sent longer spring bolts to add them on, I was hoping for $1000 the kit would at least come together. But what do you expect right?

Rubber break lines stretched a bit too much. Replaced them with lines from a Chrysler Minivan. Now I got plenty of room :)

When the PO installed the Dana 44 it had 3:73s... low and behold the front has 2:72s...

So if anyone knows anyone with a Dana 30 with 3:73s in the gulf coast area (I know it's a bit of a stretch) I am now looking to buy one.

I'll be sure to post some pics tomorrow once I got good light.

Cheers! :chug:

Sorry, I lied. I wasn't able to take pics the whole way. It was a mad dash to get it done while I was on leave. :(

Either way, got her all together. PO bashed in the Transfer Case crossmember. So my driveshaft is a little too angled for comfort. I am waiting for the new one to show up from EBay. Also going to have to swap out the Dana 300 which is shot. Doesn't look like I'll be off roading her for a little. (On top of that found the 272s in the front and 373s in the rear).

Well here is a pic of her stuck in the garage.
