'76 CJ5 with an '88 258 from a YJ.
AMC20, D30, D20, T150.
76 CJ5 , Dana 30 and the big 6 bolt hubs/thick rotors.

I need new seals and gaskets in my manual hubs. The MM catalog shows only 1 kit for 72-80 CJ's with 27 spline/6 bolt hub - 457. It took three months to get it, and it's not even close. Lots of little square tabs, and 5 hole gaskets instead of the 6 I need.

I thought I might have an orphan, but saw another '76 CJ5 with the same hubs.

Anyone have any idea what I need?

Thanks

They've been helpful, but not enough. I forgot to note how it all came apart, so I sent them some photos and asked them to ID the model, and for a diagram or installation instructions. The ones they sent were sort of close, but not useful in the end.

All the MM hubs I've seen-They for the most part, assemble the same.
EXCEPT-the 5 bolt Jeep D/30 as you have to 'clock'(index)the 'cap' to be sure you have full disengagement and engagement of the hub.
Can you post those pictures here??

There's a large diameter round O ring between the (formerly) chrome cap and the body, a thin square O ring with v groove, and a thick square ring that I want to replace. The gears etc are all in good shape.

What's that pile of parts, that is below and to the left of the hub body?
Think you'll be call'n MM again, and ask for a tech-supervisor.

The wire is an internal retaining ring for the inner (small) gear.
The funny 3 fingered thing is the spring that pushes the big gear onto the inner gear to engage the hub.
Some washers and seals.

FWIW; I use Sta-Lube engine assembly lube on the innards of my hubs.
Make sure you really lube the 'O' ring under the dial. If you don't, the dial becomes a real PITA to turn. Guess how I know this...LOL:bang:

I tend to use white lithium grease for anything that turns slow or manually, or thing that have plastic or rubber seals. I think my tub is just about empty and it's probably 20 years old and still smooth.
