'76 CJ5 304 sitting on 35's
the PO had some piece of rubber with slits cut in it for the sticks. I decided to make something a little better.

Picked up 12x18 22g flat piece of sheet metal from Lowes for $9
The picked up a Mr. Gasket universal boot from Oreilly's for $12

this is what i came up with. Still need to pick up one more boot to finish it. I hit the metal with a flapper disc and put a clear coat of hi-temp engine enamel on both sides.

Looks good. Nothing like making it yourself!
 
Looks nice, for a big step up in a factory look I'd radius the corners.

How are you going to handle the Transfer Case lever. The short stick up combined with a long throw will make a decent sealing boot difficult. I suppose a rubber or leather strip with a tight fitting slot might work. I'm interested in your solution.

I like the idea of rounding the corners. The Transfer Case lever will be extended and I am thinking of using a oem replacement boot.
