Hey guys i I'm new to the website I have a 69 CJ5 . I was wonder what everyone was painting the floors inside the Jeep with undercoating or por 15 were some of my thoughts. I'm open to suggestions.

Had mine sprayed with bedliner, inside and bottom:

Good sound deadening. Be concerned about summer heat that may well make it an oven, when you spray the inside black.

the film is very thin and fragile, it will rip right off when you step on it or scuff your feet.
I have never heard of this problem. I have only heard good things about it.

While this may be good for exhaust work, the film is very thin and fragile, it will rip right off when you step on it or scuff your feet.

Use bed liner, there is NO auto-body paint that will survive long being stepped on.

I would think the prep was not sufficient or it wasn't put on thick enough. I've seen this product used before without any problems. It is applied with a undercoating gun. Was this on a vehicle you owned? Also Lizard Skin is not recommended for exhaust pipes. I also think that a top coat of regular paint would be appropriate for this type of application. That way the entire tub is one color, just as it came from the factory, but with added insulation from under body heat. I've also seen 30 year old jeeps with the original body paint on the floors. It was not wore off. A good paint and clear coat is very hard and will last a long time with proper care. Leaving water or wet carpet on the floor causes the most problems. Gravel, salt, mud, and general road conditions are the hardest from the bottom side which will cause a floor to rust out.

I restored a '67 El Camino and used Lizard Skin to do the underside and inside all accessible body panels. It worked wonders for sound deadening and heat reflection. When I get to do a body off on my CJ, I will likely use it underneath. I used Herculiner (low cost and easy to apply at the time) and it is okay but has worn through at the foot area. All else held up. Rhino liner is my next thought on the inside of the tub.
