To me, this looks like not such a good idea.
Am I wrong?

I agree with you

If you cut the hole in the frame then welded in a pc of pipe maybe. Otherwise I would just go under the frame. I didn't do mine like that and I have axcess to welders etc

 Like a cj frame isn't weak enough to begin with.

The exhaust makes a nice neat turn with that hole ....... But really, what the h... was the guy that installed the exhaust thinking! If making a turn through the frame like that were logical the factory's would have done it long ago.

I bet you could fry an egg on the floor board and never have to listen to your wife/passenger screaming at you from the other seat.:D

all in all I just gotta call this a very big fail. And I bet the owner put a lot of work into it.

LMAO, do you want to think about your statement there???

Poppatello - No I wrote exactly what I meant and by no means do I think it is a good idea to cut a hole in the frame to route an exhaust pipe. As I tried to write, if it were a good idea a factory would have done it already, it's NOT a good idea.

I am surprised to notice that, while the jeep obviously wasn't babied the frame seems intact, no cracks, not a lot of extra welds. I would have thought it would have twisted and split long ago.

Looks like I see a spring over with original equip springs too. :D

Gee I wonder in the header has ever cracked? Maybe that setup combines as a torque limiting system for motor? Come on guys lets be thinking outside of the box. :)

Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
