Hi folks,
As some of you may have guessed I am new to this forum, so a little background : Served in the Air Force between 1981-1991 as an aircraft mechanic (crew chief) on F-4 Phantoms, G models mostly in Germany at Spangdahlem. Went on to Lockheed after that, and I still like turning wrenches, so I have restored several Mopars over the years. My current undertasking is a '72 CJ , which has several names as of late, but Betsy kinda fits .
My problem is this, how do yo mount the fresh air box ? I don't have a parts manual to see the illustrated parts breakdown , but to me it looks like you mount the air box with six nut and bolts or screws into nut plates and then the outer vent plate goes on over that with screws into nut plates. Am I close ? Also is there some type of screen or mesh that goes between the air box and the outer panel ? I really appreciate any help, Thank you.
