I just installed my 2.5 inch lift and my front sway bar link doesn't reach my spring plate. I tried lifting the spring plate and leaf spring with my floor jack, but that doesn't bring it much closer, except lift the Jeep up of my jack stands.
Am I doing something wrong or does the sway bar link need to be replaced with a longer one since installing a 2.5 inch lift. I am new to this stuff so your advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Brian

Well, I'm no expert, but think if you put on a lift, you'll need to lengthen the sway bar link. I put on sway bar disconnects, and the length, bolt to bolt, for a 2" lift is 8". Check the Warrior swaybar disconnects on the Morris site. They supply different length tubes depending on lift. A little pricey at 99.99, but the discount from here is nice.

Yea it looks like you will. best bet is probally the disco. as ken said.
Or if your good with a welder you can cut them and tube them.

Well another thing I learned from you guys. :) Installing a lift kit is all new to me, but I enjoy wrenching and learning so that is why I ask you guys stuff that you probably roll your eyes about. LOL. I found a good deal at Quadratec for some disconnects, it's in my price range.

Lots of ways to do it.

1. Cut the tube and insert a solid rod and weld.

2. Cut the tube and re-weld a longer tube on.

3. Drill and tap and use rod ends. See attached

4. Buy some.

I like the first 3. You control your destiny and they are exactly what you want. The sway-bar should just about horizontal.

73 CJ, I picked your option 4 this time. Thanks for your help.
