ON THE HUNT AGAIN
Not sure where to put this so I stuck it here.

I was reading about adding syn. 2 stroke marine oil to your gas.

I guess your looking for TC W3 rating. That is for water cooled marine 2 stroke engines. Valvoline/Pennzoil/SuperTech at Walmart.....your after the TC W3 as it has the add packs/viscosity your looking for.

You mix it 1oz to 5 gallons of gas.

It's supposed to clean, lubricate and protect the engine and is better/cheaper than lucas UCL treatment.

Here's the thread.
Been testing - LS1 Performance Information

Thoughts?

The only treatment I ever have run is a fuel cleaner, and that is very, very rare. I just follow the oil change rules, use good oil, run a good fuel filter and then drive just like normal.

I really have a hard time believing all the oil treatment claims... :)

This isn't oil treatment, this is 2cycle marine oil put in the gas.
Gas treatments, the guy who started the thread seems pretty knowledgeable,
and his post is over a year old and he's still doing it to his GTO and more. Others
report the same results. Might give it a shot ont he AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l if it doesn't sell tomorrow.

X2.

Brock
I have to say I have never been one to use any additives in my oil or gas.
After reading the posts on the site you linked to I might have to give this a try though.

Cool a couple of guinea pigs :D
Let us know how it goes and if it really works.

I figure that many people poring it into GTO's it has to have some merit.
Plus unlike most threads it's still active and old.

sounds like sound thinken. I don't see how it could hurt anything.:)

I'm with kickin' on this one. I'm going to wait this one out on the sidelines to see what it does for you first.

My test won't tell much because they don't get many miles on them, on a regular bases. I also don't really know my mpg on them.
But I'll try to sneak it into the wifes car and have her check the mpg.
I can see if it seems to make it run anybetter though and I have a rough idea on the mpg of the truck and jeep, ( lets see it takes 32 gal to go from my house to Corbin KY while pulling the jeep  ) The stealth has a broken speed-do so I have no idea.:(
But I'm going to give it a shot what the hell :chug:

I'm going to use the wifes 05 Subaru outback, it has the 3.0L v6 and runs on prem. fuel. She hadn't reset the computer MPG for the last 34,000 miles and it said 20.1. I reset it friday before helping my daughter move and after running all weekend (120 mi.) it's saying 21.4 mpg. My plan is to fill it up today as the wife uses a tank of gas a week going to work, run a couple tanks, get some mpg readings and than add the 2cycle oil and run a few more tanks to see what happens. Don't worry I'll keep you all informed.
The subaru should be insteresting as it has always run a little noisey and rough at start up. We bought it new and it now has app. 64,500 miles.

Well Brock - I spent about five hours reading threads on the LS1 site, FullSize Chevy and other places so -being the skeptic I am - decided to try it!

I have since driven two tanks of fuel and added 8 oz (20 gallon tank x2) of TCW3 and all I can say is

I'm convinced!

My old 5L Mountaineer idles noticeably smoother! I actually have to look at the tac to see if the engine is running and my mileage increased by about 1 mpg. Is the mileage increase due to a less heavy foot? Who knows - I'm just happy about the smoother idle...

I just checked MPG on the Subi, plain gas was 20.4 over 428 miles. The wife just filled up so I'm going to do one more tank of gas and than do the mix. She has no idea so her driving style won't change.
I'll get back later.:chug:

Good news, I mowed the grass yesterday and filled the tank and added some tc-w3. It always takes a little over a full tank to mow. Yesterday I did the yard on a full tank. It didn't seem to run any different but it did use less gas.:)

12.5mpg LOL
Topped it off again today, added oil.
I'll let you know how it goes.
