I am heading out of town this weekend to KC and found a guy down there parting out a Cherokee. He is charging me next to nothing for all the fuel injection parts and other misc things I will need for the 4.0 head swap to my CJ.

Question is - I am traveling with the wife, so I need to pack tools as compact as possible. can anyone tell me what tools and size sockets/wrenches I will need to disassemble the Intake, exhaust, head, distributor, wiring harness, etc?

Thanks is advance!!!! :notworthy:

You'll need : 9/16" deep and shallow 3/8" drive sockets, 14mm deep and shallow sockets, 10mm socket, 10mm wrench, 13mm socket, 14mm 12 point socket, 3/8"drive universal joint, various length extensions. And of course some decent ratchets. Oh also a 11mm socket for the crank sensor.

Thanks!!

Now......I have planned to grab:

Wiring harness, Intake, Exhaust Manifold, valve cover, head, crank sensor.

What else?

12mm socket for valve cover, maybe a 7/16" socket too some valve cover bolts are different depending on year of jeep.

Gees my mind is off somewhere, you will need a 13mm 12point deep socket in 1/2" drive for the head bolts. I think that's pretty much it, they are a very simple engine to work with.
