fuel pump

ok dammit lol i am trying to get this new fuel pump in the AMC 304 , is there a special way this thing goes in, damn its a pain in the asssssssssssssss~!~~ I put a new cam in, but that shouldnt have anything to do with it should it>?>?? I mean last time I put a pump on i dont remember having to force it in.........

Yep, they can be a real pain. Even when the concentric is rotated around so the lobe is up (away from the fuel pump lever) you still have to put some weight on the pump to hold it down and against the block. You can do it yourself (I have before) but it really helps to have two people.

Try turning the engine over by hand while holding the pump in place and you will feel the cam eccentric roll away making it easier

definitly a pain, but turning it over while holding it in place should make it somewhat easier
