Anyone else's tube and rod this close to leaf's? Seems real close at full droop '79 CJ5 . ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363998656.634694.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1363998690.750884.jpg

Also on top of that, I can turn full left or right and I hit sway bar links. Thought on that?

If your jeep is lifted, then you need appropriate extended sway bar links.

Other than that, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

No lift. So I tore it apart ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364013465.497054.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1364013483.615230.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1364013501.498304.jpg

:)Is the tie Rod and Drag link after market and larger than stock? The short answer would be to do a tie rod flip..........whereby with the use of a new sleeve you change the direction of the taper in the spindle and drop the tie rod in from the top as opposed from the bottom.

:D:D:D:D

the profile says 1979 but the axle in the rebuild pictures has drum brakes. Do you have some kind of mix and match going on here?:wtf:

That's what I have been pondering as with all my research, it makes no sense. Unless someone just slammed it together

:)"Tie Rod flip" You can do a search on this site or on the internet..............

You might want to post some better pictures of your problem..........It looked like the tie rod size may be oversized...........but again hard to tell. There are a few other things that could make the tie rod close at the spring , like worn out Tie rod ends, ball joints etc.

I'll look it up. The tube is just slightly larger than stock, all ends are brand new. Going to do some more investigating today after I hit up lowes for some more hardware we snapped last night.

PS, redoing the entire brake line system is a PITA
