Gas gage problems

I put a fiberglass body on my CJ7 about 5 years ago and regrounded all the wires. I also put in all new gages at the time. Everything has been working perfectly until i lieft my CJ7 sit over the winter. Now the gage stays on empty and will jump up every once in a while but go straight back to empty. I think it had little gas in it while sitting over the winter. The gage is getting voltage. Someone told me that the float might be stuck in the tank? anybody have any ideas.

I'd recheck the sending unit ground wire.

Float no longer float. Might want to check for water in your tank also.
