GenRight Off-Road Finishes KOH in 14th Place

Simi Valley, CA – Tony Pellegrino, owner of GenRight Off-Road, the Official Suspension Sponsor of the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers, finished the KOH race in 14th place. 100 vehicles started this grueling race and only 43 finished at all. Top names from many forms of racing competed, and drivers from all over the world came to test their skills. King of the Hammers, held in Johnson Valley, CA on February 12th is arguably the most challenging one day race in the world.

GenRight Off-Road signed on as an official sponsor of the event in August 2009. This sponsorship gave the company a spot in the race and originally Tony and the team intended to use the spot as a media opportunity. However, as things progressed, Pellegrino determined that the best way to showcase his company, his products and his talent was to build a competitive buggy to race in KOH. The buggy GenRight built features GenRight’s double triangulated KOH Limited Edition Front and Rear Suspension, King Quad Bypass Shocks, 42” Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Tires, Currie Rock Jock 60 Axles, Atlas Transfer Case , Mopar Engine, Walker Evans Racing Wheels, Beard Seats, and HIDx Lights. The relationship Pellegrino has with these companies allowed him to build a strong and capable vehicle with some of the best equipment in the business. “We test what we sell on our Jeeps every day. I won’t sell anything that doesn’t stand up to trails like the Hammers. KOH was a great way to prove the quality of our products and those of our partners.”

The 805 GenRight Buggy started in 92nd place and passed 74 cars before its fuel stop at RM 36. They were tracking in 5th for much of the race. However a flat tire, a flop on Sunbonnet, and traffic on Sledge Hammer ultimately led to a finish in the 14th position.

“My goal was to finish in the daylight, which we did. This race is brutal! We couldn’t have done it without our team. Anybody who finished in the top 20 automatically gets a spot in next year’s main race. That’s pretty good for a bunch of Jeep guys”, Pellegrino said after the race.

Additional sponsors GenRight would like to acknowledge are Viking Offroad and Race Prep Hobbies.

GenRight Off-Road is an aftermarket automotive parts manufacturer located in Simi Valley, CA. Specializing in Jeeps, they produce suspension kits, gas tanks, body armor and sport cages. All of GenRight’s products are “Made in the USA”. Tony Pellegrino, owner of GenRight Off-Road can be found showcasing his products on one of the GenRight Jeeps at events nationwide.
