Dropping Gm Gen III 4.8l Lr4 vortec into my 1977 CJ7 .. Have it bolted to sm465 Transmission with How hydraulic throw out bearing . When I tighten down the pressure plate I see significant interference with the flywheel, the fingers bend significantly.. Now I can not get clutch to disengage .. I feel that I either need to shim pressure plate or find a " thinner fly where".. Does this make sense. Any help would be appreciated

I had a similar problem putting the 465 in my CJ. The bearing nose cone was about an 1/8" too long. I cut a 1/4 in off and had no more problems. Also, if you have an adjustable throw out bearing, it may need to be taken in a bit. Not sure if a hydraulic bearing would be similar to mine but it's worth checking.
