Well I bought this 68 a few weeks ago and finally got it in the garage to start working on her. The whole drive train was removed before I bought it so I might have a few questions on where things are supposed to go.. My plans so far are to put the drive train back in after all of the gaskets have been replaced and I have gone through it. I want to get it driving on the road before I tear it completely apart this winter and rebuild it. But so far I have replaced the rear axle outer bearings and seals, wheel cylinders, and shoes, and to my surprise it has a Limited slip in it already. Just pulled the front fenders and grill off last night to make it easier to work in the front end. I have a few brake lines to replace, the PO had used some JB weld to repair the front right brake line, not cool... Also pulled the master cylinder and found a repair kit at the local parts store. Today I pulled the front diff cover to find a nasty goopy-chunky mess inside. I have never seen gear oil chunky before.. and replaced fluid and gasket.

Well I here is an update on my work so far. I've been so busy at work that its been hard to work on anything, bah! Anywho the engine is in pieces just waiting on my re-ring to come in from northernautoparts. Just been cleaning everything up really well for the install. Also I have been able to pull the heater out, removed all of the brake lines. Those lines were gummed up so bad that I couldn't blow them out, so I decided to buy some Nickel copper line from Jegs to replace all of them. Also all of the seals and gaskets were replaced in the Transmission and Transfer Case . So with that hopefully it will be back in the Jeep in the next couple of weeks.

I have a few updated pics of what I have been doing on the ol' jeep. Been going a bit slower than expected but there is progress. Engine is in, new brake lines have been run, and new radiator and wiring harness came in last night! :D:D:D

No it is not the stock color, it was an ugly greenish blue color. Really didn't like it, but I think the cast iron and cast aluminum colors look really good on it. Getting pretty stoked about this project! It's always nice to see the progress. Still have a large list of things to buy to get it running, and a bigger list of thing I want for it lol.

Engine looking good...can I ask what radiator your using? I'm off to a slow start on a 69 with a 225 rebuild and will need one. thanks

Thanks for the info...I will be ordering one shortly./ Will be checking out your installation! Please post pics!
