So when does hardtop season officially begin? This is the latest I've gone here in Pa. My persistence /stubbornness/procrastination has paid off as there is still a 60 degree day on the horizon. I know I won't make it past next weekend. Highs will be more normal for this time of year mid 30s to 40. It was the rather brisk rides to work in the morning that made me wonder what others thought. The low 30s made me break out the gloves.

That's pretty much the way I view it too.

I still need to do some more repairs on my top and doors before it can be installed.

The problem is that my windshield frame has to be re-shaped so that it regains the proper orientation in three dimensions in order to mate with the top.

In other words, my windshield frame is bent and twisted.:)

Gotta get to work on that.

I put my half cab on yesterday. Even though it would have been a good topless day yesterday and today. But my time is pretty booked in the near future so went ahead and did it.

don't have a hardtop as of yet. put my soft top went on weeks ago just because i don't have anywhere to store it inside and tarps have a habit of blowing off i just run without the doors and back 99% of the time. if i had somewhere inside i would probably run topless all winter and just put the top on when it was about to rain. been thinking about taking it off been bright and sunny for weeks and no rain forecasted. mabe when i get it running.

Since putting on the roof rack I've been too lazy to take the top off, so I just pull the doors for the warmer months.

And 2 flat doors are pretty easy to store out of the way ;)

I put my hardtop on in October...

Made a new rule this morning , 30 degrees or lower and the doors go on. Wow what a difference. This could keep me going till Christmas

You're a nut, Pete.

With highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s next week looks like the end
Who are you kidding? You're gonna be in a "Nanook of the North" snowsuit, cruisin' around topless... 🍺

You should set up a raffle or something were we all donate like 5 bucks buy in and bet which day you can last to into the winter. Winner gets like 50 bucks or something and you pocket the proceeds to the scrambler fund..... Of course you are required to take daily pics of your topless ensemble until you finally throw in the towel.

I'd gladly throw in a few bucks if it got you to stop whining about needing a scrambler!:dbanana:

Im actually a Hot weather type of guy. I lived in the desert for 10 years for heavens sake. :D

Id hide my identity if I was that guy to. Luckily I drive a Cj and will never have to feel that shame.

Ummm just hold on there a minute. Hmmm Hell, I could go all Winter if it meant Id get a Scrambler out of it. :p

Need to set a latitude line or a certain state and above kind of thing......because Im at the bottom of AL and while it does get cold sometimes, I was wearing shorts today. I went a year and a half doorless and topless once while DDing my CJ6 .
I have a knit cap for my ears, a thick bomber jacket, and a pair of gloves for the 40s and below.

It's ironic that now that i've finally have gotten my CJ to run properly, the weather has turned on me. Don't have a hard top, but i think the soft-top is going on today. :(

That or a temperature based question.

More South than you BUT with last winter's blast and this seasons cool front, we've already been in the 40s for South Tx. I only have a bikini top and didn't have doors so I was running in the 30s and 40s last year with my leather jacket, gloves and a cap.

Just bought soft doors and it is a huge difference. With the heat coming off the floor and little air movement even with the back open, it's not too bad.

I am in Southern Arizona near the Mexico border. I put mine on two weeks ago because we can turn cool (notice I didn't say cold out of respect for the rest of you guys) anytime between mid-Nov to early Dec. In a couple of days we can go from warm to freezing overnight.

rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

So I put mine on last weekend and have had two days in the upper 60s and into 70s. Can't win. But 40s the rest of the week.

So I just put my Softtop back on today, which turned out to be one of the most labor intensive things i've done on my Jeep. Why can't Besttop use a material the doesn't shrink three inches in the cold? The worst part is hooking up those damn zippers. :wtf:
