I've been leaning on this for forever... On my dads Jeep, his 99 tj, the frame is getting really bad (for 224,000 miles, who can complain?) but the old 4 cylinder is losing a lot of power and the Ax-5 doesn't like going into reverse. I know she's getting tired so I have a plan to give her a new lease on life. I want to swap a Cummins in. I have plans to get a new frame, do some reinforcing, drop in the cummins, put an NV4500 behind her and maybe an Atlas tcase. Also with some locked Dana 44s. Put a new 6 inch on and 1inch body and run 36s with custom bumpers. But the real question I have is how is the 4bt under the hood? I've heard there's a lot of vibration due to the torque, and just because it's a diesel. I want to do this really bad, but If there is excessive vibration I want to maybe prevent some of it. And maybe some drivetrain help so I don't just blow money on stuff that the 4bt is just going to rip apart. Thanks guys and I hope you all had wonderful Easters!

Ive got 2 buddies running 4bt's in YJ's. Neither one vibrates horribly. Both of the motors fit under the hood, one has the turbo sticking out for show. One guy is a really good fabricator and did all his own work.. The other paid 10gs for one with the motor installed and has spent another 3-4 grand getting it right.

Keep in mind the frame needs to be beefed up and the axles will need to be replaced.
