So first off I am working on a CJ, the frame is a 76 and the tub is a 78. It has a built Chev 350 in it. It also has a 4" suspension lift with 33" street tires. This jeep is purpose built to be a wheel stander and show off rig "car showes and such". I have convinced the driver (and financier) that manifolds and huge muflers should be replaced, both for HP gains and sound. A jeep running down the track on its rear tires all quit like doesnt get a huge standing ovation.

It has a T-4 transmition and power steering. The steering column is form a 69 Chevelle (not that it looks like it would be a problem)

What I am looking for it a recomendation for headers and any words of wisdom in instalation (We have access to a full heavy equipment shop so tools and lifts are no issue). Preferably long tube but shorties if longs are a problem. Also cost it an issue unless I can justify a reason why ceramic is better(I will have heat wrap on the headers).

Thank you in advance.

Cheapest route is Hedman; like 170 at Summit.

They come over the frame and exit under your feet. Muffler will basically bolt right to the header with a 3" turndown in front of the rear tire.

May have to cut just a little of the inner fender on the outside of the frame.

I checked out the Summit headers and they look good. All I could find though it the ball and socket style, wich I am sadly unfamiliar with. Is this style of adapter and different in practice than the three bolt flange.

As far as the T-4 , I cant believe he keeps it together as it is. I have a t-10 sitting to swap in when it goes but that old T-4 just wont die. And he is waiting to swap until it does.

The headman with the ball and socket has worked great for me. No gasket. Just bolt her up and go.
