I would get an auxiliary electrical heater. Use your OEM heater (it's free heat from the engine) and when that's not enough turn on the electrical heater.
Blazer blower motor uprgrade, although I'm not 100% sure it can be done on your 73. Its definately worth researching and doing if you can. It'll double your your factory heater output.
