Just got an 80 CJ5 and the emergency brake pedal is stuck. Jeep is on the trailer. Just got home from six hour haul. Any advice on how to get it to come free? The release handle is not working

Re: Help. Eric brake pedal stuck

Push down on the pedal and while doing so-Pull the brake release.

Thanks for the quick reply Lumpy. I had to return the trailer so I cut the cable and unloaded. I now have a first project .

Re: Help. Eric brake pedal stuck

Next time try grease under the tires and a strong rope tied to the rear axle and a tree and drive off with the trailer :) usually works every time!

That won't work, if the p'brake pedal bracket is the issue.

I can just see the grease skid marks on the trailer! Can't criticize the method though. I brought home a 1947 2 1/2 ton truck with a frozen front wheel bearing. Got it off the trailer by hooking a chain to the back of the truck then to my farm tractor. I made a dolly using several layers of plywood and about 6 large cabinet casters under the siezed wheel. Then as you said, I just drove the trailer out from under it. I'll have to remember the grease thing though! :D

Saw it done once as a vindictive thing. Boat on trailer taken and boat tied to tree and trailer yanked out from under boat. A dirty low down thing in deed

There's a jerk born every minute!

Liquid dish soap works very well for this also. ;)
