Has anyone seen the Decal in the attached images. I am about to start a rebuild on a 1978 Jeep that I inherited from my Grandfather. It has been in the family since about 1987 and has always had these decals. I thought it was a Golden Eagle edition until I started researching them and noticed the decals look nothing alike. I really just want to make sure that I am not making a mistake by "rebuilding not restoring" something that could be a rarity. I like the decals and might have some new ones made even if they are not part of some "rare package". Thanks for all your help in advance.

Either a PO installed or dealer installed, not factory. What does your build tag on firewall say, SO# or extra tag attached? Is Grandfather still alive to answer?
How about your father? Find out were it is from, may give a clue.
Someone knows, just need to find that person.

Not OEM in any way.

I gotta ask, what does the rope on the mirror do?:D

:) IO beat me to it, What is the rope holding up?

The Jeep had 9 years to be stickerized before your family knew it, it could be anything. The bird looks like it's trying to be all tough, but at the same time it seems a little comical to me.

Sorry guys this is the OP I had to create a new account because the site wouldn't let me login.

Thanks for the responses. I will try to answer in the order they were asked

No my grandfather is not alive anymore but he probably wouldn't have paid attention to those types of details about what he was buying anyway. Ill look on the firewall when I get a chance

To you Sir Hedgehog. It is not a comical bird..It is actually a Fire Eagle. Much better than a Golden Eagle . They evidently only made one and it came with a rope around the mirror witch was a huge head scratcher for most other Jeepers. Lots of Heads turning when I roll down the road.

As to the Rope....I kind of wanna keep it going and let people keep guessing cause it could lead to some funny arse theories. It actually holds my engine to the frame...the mirror is what holds it all up. They made some pretty good mirror brackets back then.(really it was just holding a tarp over the cab area to keep rain and leaves out because there was no room in the garage. I just forgot to move it before the picture.)
