I have absolutely no idea how to start a poll but need yays or nays from you guys/gals. I am trying to decide whether to keep the back of my rig the way it is
0624091221.webp

or replace the tub with another CJ5 and comp cut the rear.

how about better pics of the back and sides?
And what are your eventual plans for the rig (need to carry kids/tools/ect?)

Actually should have worded it a little better, when the PO cut the tub due to excessive rust what he did was left the rollbar and l channel from existing and welded some 2" square tubing from that to frame. So if I kept it like it is will have to redo the rear section with new tubing and such because of:
1. bad welds
2. in case of roll I believe none of the rear section will hold
3. kinda like the comp cut look just a hair more.
Looking for any suggestions, and opinions i am a big boy so let me hear it... :D

I have no opinion until you let us know what your intentions are... :)

What ARE YOU lookin' for? :)

That's the problem not sure either way it will be wheeled when it's finished. Guess i'm looking for pros and/or cons of both. No seat in back and comp cut will be more cosmetic than function and leaving it and reworking the rear would be I guess more functional. I guess what it cimes down to is I wanted it to look more CJ like. Will prob leave it but just researching my options. Maybe another CJ? ;)

Kick'n - there in lies the problem... You have a great modified CJ! Is it really worth the / your effort to put it back to stock - semi stock? Hell if I know! That is determined by your budget!

There are allot of CJ's out there that you could make yours... Your could have the best of both worlds - the tube fendered rock crawler and the 'stock looking' kick <-BAD WORD-> CJ...

What DO YOU WANT? :)

I personnally like your CJ the way it is. It's not like your looking to put it on the road and make it your DD, right? As long as your plan isn't to make it your DD and haul the family around in it, my vote is leave it.

something for me to stew over I guess. Just have to look for a stockish CJ to drive and except for reworking the rear tubing leave the Frogger alone. Now how to sell this to Momma?

Leave it and buy another one. Multiple Jeeps are the way to go. :D
x2

I stay away from telling people what they want, I mean I know what I like and that is stock looking bodies. I love to go out and show up in stealth jeep and wheel with the guys who have all the toys. When we are finished stealth jeep did what theirs did but without all the extra money thrown at it.

IMO do whatever is easiest to get it on the trails and haven fun. :driving:Your just going to bounce it off rocks and trees right?:madjeep:

Oh yea will definitely be bouncing off something on the trails and will just keep it like it is, Just that I miss the look of an stock CJ body. When I bought this one I was sooo torn between it and a 81 with 350 Chevy motor.

Hmmm wonder if he still has it? :D

I know what you mean, you gota love the way cj's look.

I would run TJs except for the way a CJ looks. never seen anything I thought was better looking than a classic CJ.
I think my TJ was about the best wheeling Jeep I ever own, to easy in fact. But the cjs are the best looking so I find myself preferring them.

So did you find the new Cj yet or are you still stalling.
Ya know i was in the middle of looking when I realized something that shot my blood pressure up about two hundred notches
The "NEW" water pump from A-Zone is leaking out of the wheep hole. So off with the old/new one and when I have time will swap for another, All this and had to pull the oil pan off for resealing. ( Note: do not use any kind of gasket sealer if you even think it has been frozen while sitting in shed and/or garage).:o. And no not looking yet but I will run up on a deal then it's on brother.

You could always just box the back in, something like this.
