Help Please, Howell TBI with DUI HEI

I have an 84 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , TF999 , and Dana 300 . I'm in the process of putting in a new Painless Wiring Harness, Howell Fuel Injection CA kit, and a DUI Dizzy. I am to the part of the Howell instructions where it mentions splicing into a purple wire going to the ignition module, but I have already removed it do to it not being needed with the DUI installed. Anyone else have this setup? Anyone having any diagrams of this setup or pics?

I would suggest you call Howell, they have excellent customer service. Since the instruction book was written for the Duraspark ignition.

I don't advise you to do this without calling Howell, but on my chevy HEI
a white wire conects to the dist. cap at the neg. side of the coil (tach signal)
Not sure thats the wire you are talking about though.

The purple wire is the magnetic pickup negative wire . I don't know if Davis uses the same color wire as a stock HEI for its neg. pickup wich is green in any case if you pop the cap there are two wires running from the mag p/u to the module with two different size spades the smaller spade is the neg wire . Regardless ..... Still call Davis.

My Lokar kickdown is not working due to it being made for a carb, does anyone have a suggestion?

The 999 like my 727 is very sensitive to pressure,correct pressure is vital to Transmission life. Bouchillon performance is where i ended up after lokar helped burn my first 727. I dont know about a TBI adapter but they may be able to help.
