Hey everyone....My springs were flat so i decided to put on a 2.5 inch lift kit. However my shackles are not stock which led to a 5 inch total lift in the back. I havent done the front yet as I do not know what else (if anything) besides the brake hoses will need to be modified if I leave the longer than stock shackles. If anyone can help with what else I will need to modify if i have a lift total of 5 inches I would appreciate it very much!! thanks for your help, im still a new Jeeper, but im damn proud! I may be new but i still get mad when someone calls my jeep a truck. Thanks for your help!

If it were me, I would lose the shackles, and go to a heavier stock length. You may still want to go longer with the brake hoses, even with 2.5" of lift.

If your shackles are 2.5 inches longer than the stock ones then you are actually netting 1.25 inches of lift from the shackles. remember the axle is located half way across the springs towrds the pivot point which reduces the height. The 2.5 inch longer shackles are pretty long though and will cause problems with wandering when driving straight.

X2 on all that, you might want longer shocks also.
If the shackles are over 4 1/2 bolt to bolt I would ditch them for sure.

Id like to ask you how you came up with the 5in. of lift measurement. This may shed some light on what you have. Was your Jeep stock before this point with 28 in original tires? Lets get a platform first. Lift shackles arent "the devils work" per say as long as its like 1/2 in. as in the beefier aftermarket variety.
