help with a lift kit for a cj5
I'd keep the total lift under 4". Ideally, a 2.5" suspension lift with a 1" body lift will allow you to run 33's. And with a bit of trimming you should be able to get 35's under it. But the bigger the tire, the more stress on the axles.
You will find that modifying one thing, will necessitate modifying something else. Which is why you really need to define how and where you intend to use the Jeep.
Yes keep it at 1" maxI just purchased new body mounts for my wife's jeep. Is this where the body lifts are done as well?
The body lift replaces the body mounts with thicker ones.So if we decide to do a 1" body lift, do I still need the new body mounts? The body lift is not replacing the body mounts. Confusing myself here.

I used both the list and the mounts... The lift pucks are too hard in my oppinion to use at the mount bushings. Don't allow for enough flex when you need it.
But I have heard it both ways.

I would think that should work, I run 31s on a stock one and wheel it hard. She wants 33's and it's only a grocery getter with an occasional trip through the river bed. 2.5 with a 1" body is what I'm leaning to?
