Hey Gents,

Im hoping someone can help me out. I need to change the heater core on my 84 CJ8 and for the life of me I cant figure out how to get to the screws that hold the housing in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and it also has A/C. If someone a pdf of the shop manual of this job would be sweet.

Thanks for any help.

It's been several years since I broke into mine....but if I recall there are 5-7 screws holding the entire plenum to the firewall...in order to access the top screws you need to partially or entirely remove the dash plate. Or you have to be a spider monkey to reach them. The plenum will drop out and the core is inside as you probably already know..
Good luck...i remember it wasn't a lot of fun lying on my back in a cramped CJ compartment. :chug:
