Help with power steering hose replacement

[OEM1984CJ7]

1984 CJ7 w/ AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and I am having trouble finding right hose. I ordered J5363661 from 4wd and no way of making it fit. It looks like this:


It stated for 80-86 CJ w/ AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l

then, I see this hose listed from another supplier J5370018 for 80-81 CJ w/ AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l


this second hose looks like a better fit

Does anyone have either one of these on their CJ and maybe a picture or two installed so I know which one to use.

Picture number two is what was on my 1980 CJ5 . It was broken upon removal, but the PO said it leaked anyway and both were severely frayed. Hope this might help, AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I6 as well.

Oh yea, I have this type of pump.



I did find a writeup on another forum and it shows the 661 hose used but the return line is different than what I have and maybe that it why they are hitting???

Here it is installed. (Look past the grease, that is corrected now!)



Mind you, this is on a 1980 CJ5 , IDK if there is a difference and/or if this is the correct part for this vehicle; but is is what I have on mine!

Picture size was fine. It looked like in your second picture you have the J5370018 line on yours that works good. I believe the J5363661 would work on mine if I swapped the return hose also for the same type routing from the gearbox. I actually am going to keep my V8 hoses attached until I get the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l back in and see how far they are off. The fittings are the same size/type so we will see.
