Hi, having solved my ticking problem, I thought I'd splash on a new carb to add power and reliability. I bought a 32/36 Weber and have been trying to get it going. It just seems to flood quickly and die. I have a Holley fuel pressure regulator set to 2-3 psi and have made sure it was mounted lower than the bowl but it still seems to do it. I also took off the top to check the bowl floats and they seem ok at about 48-49mm (if that's right?), the idle is set to 3 turns out at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. It seems to be overflowing too which hopefully you can see in the video https://youtu.be/XozGbDgcvp8
Thanks in advance for any tips.

I assume that raw fuel is dumping into the carb, not really being shown in the video. Since you say the floats are set correctly, I would suggest next checking the needle & seat assembly. When the float bowl fills up with gas, the float is supposed to close off the fuel coming in at the needle & seat which could be leaking.

I had a look at the needle and seat but didn't see anything obvious. I'm assuming it isn't supposed to overflow and the pour fuel into the manifold when the engine stops??

What are you using for a fuel pump?
You may have crud in the needle seat that won't allow the fuel flow to shut off.

Thanks for the input. LG, it seems your always waiting for me to post something! Haha. So, update, it's all working and the pressure is steady at 3psi. It has good power, never felt it shift so quick! The problem was the fuel filter. It was a brand new FRAM. The fuel vent was causing the fuel to avoid the FPR and fire in through the bowl vent causing the bowl to overflow. The fuel pouring into the carb after the engine had stopped was caused by the overfilled bowl draining. Solution was to remove the filter and replace with a simple 1 in 1 out filter. Solved the problem totally. She's back alive and ready for new rubber tomorrow. Thanks again for the help. Excellent source of good info from helpful people.
