Hi all , my first post . Did a search and could seem to fin an answer. My father in law has 1 1969 CJ5 with an unknown lift kit on it. He wants a better ride and would liek to buy STOCK leaf springs and put them back on. I have located 2 sets, however BOTH are from a 1977 CJ5 .I need to know the range of other year CJs that have interchangeable leaf springs. Thanks so much in advance.

On the 1969 CJ5 , They have a short stiff Hi frequency spring, Iv'e tried taking out leafs , playing with shocks , tire pressure and never could get that choppy ride out.
On my 1965 I went to the Holbrook Longleafs, these guys are from Oregon (503-655-4747 Gary) they make a standard width longer spring pack ( about 9 inches longer overall) these are a first class Military wrapped spring and sell the kit for both front and rear including 4 new mounts which have to be installed ( not a big job) Night and day change in ride and articulation. If you are a street driver mostly a sway bar would be a good Idea since they do allow the Jeep to lean a bit going around corners. They have a web page check it out.

Thanks for the reply :) And I WILL pass on that information to him, but hes kinda thick skulled if you know what I mean lol. I am currently trying to talk him out of a shackle reversal. He probably wont listen :) So...you never did say? will the 77 springs fit on the 69???

I believe 55-75 or maybe 55-72 used the same length narrow spring.

As far as the shackle reversal, you'll get as many opinions on that subject as you have time to listen. It will calm the ride down, but what you gain you well loose a lot more in other areas.

Ok..so they probably wont fit then. damn...and yes I agree 110 percent on the shackle flip. I know guys that have switched it back for a plethora of reasons. Ill just wait for king coil overs :)

I just checked its 55-75 @ 1.75" width. The springs for 76 and up are 6.5" longer in front and 2" wide and same length in rear as the early ones but 2.5" wide.
Now to to say there are plenty of guys that have used the later wider springs and changed the mounts and shackles............so Jeeps are made to be changed.
Check out the Holbrooks I think that is a great option.

Thanks alot, yeah I was just reading their webpage. Seems great. I may just put those on MY jeep :)
