Ive been toying around with installing hood vents in my CJ5 to get rid of some under hood heat. Who runs them and where did you get them?

I saw a jeep hood with 1 1/2 inch diameter holes in the sides that had been flanged inwards and had metal mesh screen attached to the inside. Flanged holes would be rather easy to do and three or four on a side would vent a lot of heat. And they looked good.:D
Now if I can remember where the picture was.
I have not had over heating problems and if I did I think the first thing I would look into would be a bigger radiator.

Ive never had a problem with my CJ5 over heating I would just like to keep under the hood a little cooler is all.

I have Runs Cool hood and side vents. It did help with my overheating.

I'm getting ready to do this to mine.

If i remember correctly, old dog had a few nice pictures of his hood vents / louvers.

I have my hood louvered. There's a lot of different styles you can use, Grand Prix louvers have always been popular and easy.

I like the one jP did. :chug:

I got mine on ebay. Search for marine vents.

BusaDave9 those are to cool. Whats up with one wiper you don't look out that side?

Nope.
The passenger doesn't need to see where we're going.

That pivot was seized when I bought the jeep so I just disconnected it and have never thought about making it work. It's not a daily driver.

Mine doesn't overheat...in fact a custom shroud keeps things very cool according to the temp gauge. However, the headers or something puts out a lot of heat and I get vapor lock sometimes. I even covered all the gas lines with DEI heatshield... Do these vents help with vaper lock? Thanks.
