Sorry about the thread title..I not drinking, just can't type!!

I thought it was 1968, but title said 1963. Looked up the color on the Willys page, and my color isn't listed under 1963. Its listed as a 1958-1960 and I believe it is tropical rose or coral mist??

Its pink, and not faded RED...

Give me the vin number and I will tell you the year.

151870 Sound right?

this number is on the bottom of motor if that means anything..

It is going to be on a plate on the windshield or on the fire wall. It should be a combination of letters and numbers. It should also be on your title. Something Like 1JCCE88C1CT123456

That was just the ID number on the INS card

I'll look at the Tag on the fire wall tomorrow, when I get down to the shed. Thank for all the help so far!!

The serial number is located on a plate riveted to the firewall on the driver's side in the engine compartment. A paint and trim option plate is located on the passenger side.

Like alpha6 said it is on your title but on something that old it will only have about halve that many numbers and or letters. And I don't think they even used letters back then.

The 13 digit SN was started in 1962 or 1964. I get conflicting info from different books. Typical for jeep info.

Great info!

The correct vin is..57548 151870. That's how it appears on the vin tag

The passenger side tag numbers are..332 429. That's how they look on the tag. What do those numbers stand for?

The 57548 is the Model number for 1955-1963 CJ5 's, so I am thinking it's a 63 since the 1962 production number started with 134748, since yours is 151870 after that I am saying for sure a '63. And the 332 is the paint number which in 1963 was -Indian Ceramic and the 429 was the trim package and I am trying to find out what that was for you.

Thank you!! Indian Ceramic..who would have thunk it! I was for sure it was pink!

The title and ins say its a 63, and match the vin. In 63 pink was not an option, so I thought it was earlier model..

Great site with good people.. Glad I joined up!!

And I found this pic of a jeep in Indian Ceramic and it looks close to your color.

'63 CJ5 w/ Tuxedo Park option package and Koenig full metal cab

That is my jeep..minus the hard top.. I have the fender cushings too.

I have electric windshield wipers.. They must have been aftermarket.

My jeep was used as a snow plow..so I'll be checking the frame, just to make sure there are no cracks

Wonder if mine is the Tuxedo Park package as well? If so how rare of a jeep would it be?

I am really wanting to turn this into a nice trail rig, but wondering now if I should??

In 1961, the Tuxedo Park park Limited production jeep was introduced. The package offered chrome hood hinges, mirror brackets, chrome front and rear bumpers and a 60/40 front bench seat. Also included were special wheel covers and white sidewall tires. This package was offered as a trim option through 1963 on CJ5 and are scarce today.

The trim package for this was L29, so look at your tag again and see if it is an L instead of a 4. From the sounds of it you appear to have the Tuxedo Park package.

Read all about it here.

The tag does say 429. But it has all the chrome trim and everything it should. It was delivered 11-1962 (I found the 1000 mile certificate). I think it is a Tuxedo Park park!
