I just walked by a Jeep with 33's parked next to a Jk with Rubicon tires that are under 32. It seemed the 32's were taller. So I pulled out a tape and yep it was about 1/4' taller. Then I put the tape to my CJ and my 35's are like 33.5's at 30 PSI! Aired down they are probably 30 or less!

I guess I am saying I never realized how close in size they all are and that the width of the rim really shortened the two Jeeps that were on 10" wide rims.

Do I have to start telling people I have 33.5s now? :)

I know what you meen. I wish tire companys would tell the truth about their sizes.:(
I never thought about rim width making a differance though.

 So I went out and measured my 31s. 29" at 20 psi, checked the 31s on the Cherokee they are 29.5" at 35 psi. I don't think I've scraped off one inch of rubber all ready. Maybe, 31 is the ruff cut measurement and 29 is the planed down finished measurement... you know like lumber??

Do all these online gear ratio calculators take true tire size into account.;)

 It seems that way.

You are right about the wheel, if you put the same tire on a 8" and a 10" wheel the one on the 8" will be taller. So the size of the wheel plays into this.
