Long story short version;

Wife and I had a pre-move yard/garage/tag (whatever you call it) sale today. Anyway the CJ was sitting in the yard beside the driveway and more than once I was propositioned to sell it. The one guy was serious enough to leave me his number and said that when I think of a firm price to call him.

So, what would you all do :dunno:

Give him a ridiculous number and see if he says yes. If so, sell and buy another and keep the change.

I tell them they don't have that much money.:D

Everything is for sale for the right price.

the thought of starting over again from scratch causes me to think in high 5 digit or low 6 digit numbers. I would not sell it for high fair market value.:cool:

Anyone want to buy a Web site or ten or so........

Yep.... Thats me.

Even have CJ8 now but haven't transferred it"""

Btw... I love this place. And it not for sale EVER!
Good to hear. It's because of you that all of us have the best Jeep site on the web to come to :ty:

:agree: as long as you know you can live with another Jeep.

True. That adds to the ridiculousness of the offer. Like $100k may nit be ridiculous enough. But maybe $500K. That should buy me a pristine stock Scrambler as well as a crazy rock crawler as well. ;)

CJ, I remember when you were offered a very right price from very wrong people (think corporate greed)
That sale would have wrecked this site as we know it. It would have been like Pirate 4x4 with high membership fees and lots of ads.

EDIT: sorry Elwood. didn't mean to highjack. I wouldn't sell. Once you put much time into customizing a jeep as you want it then it's hard to get your money out of it. If he can meet your price, sell it. Think about what it's worth to you.

Im already the majority shareholder with 8929 posts and counting...:laugh:

:D You guys are awesome. First off, CJ, I don't want to buy this, or any other website... I'm good. Secondly, you guys (and my wife) make good points, there's no way I could get out of the CJ what its worth to me, not factoring what it's actually worth.

And, we're getting ready to move (read military transfer) to Annapolis, MD, and the wife made quite a few trips to that area to find a house with a garage for me and the CJ :), she basically said I'm not selling the CJ a month before we move into a house that she picked partially because of its garage... So, I'm keeping the Golden Eagle :)

Awe, I love when a story ends well :chug:

Elwood, you have managed to spend enough on your CJ that you will never get your money out of it , so the wife forbids you to sell it??

:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

We are not worthy!!

Im still planning my "Hostile Takeover". I may have to get Dave involved. :D

We're thinking alike. :D

... and Elwood, the misses, and their CJ lived happily ever after.

THE END. :)
