I have a 1978 CJ7 with AMC 304 and Howell fuel injection and DUI distributor and ignition. I have also installed a painless wire kit for the Jeep.

I have hooked up everything correctly and have made several calls to painless Howell and DUI. I have changed all sensors idle o2 throttle temp map as well as the computer and the DUI

I have no vacuum leaks I have checked with carb cleaner.

The problem I have is an idle speed of 3000rpm.

I am at a loss and do not know what to do at this time.

Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum. I grew up just outside of EP and went to school there. There are plenty of great people here that will be able to point you in the right direction and help you out

I have never worked or programmed a Howel system but... I had a high idle on an Edelbrock EFI and it was due to he computer being set as a 4 cylinder not 8. Once I plugged in the laptop and changed it all was good. Is the Howel system user programmable?
