I drove my CJ7 on a public road today, for the first time in at least a decade or more. It was a dirt road and for only about a quarter mile round trip, but I was thrilled. I've been slowly rebuilding and replacing things, as money and the will to do so, has allowed.

Now I'm very close to being ready to actually use it. Just a few more little things, like carb tuning, tail pipes, and double checking fasteners and such.

Just had to tell somebody about my drive today, so tag, it's you guys.

I hear you for sure, I have an 80 and haven't been able to drive it yet due to fixes, but it will be soon after those fixes your talking about. The jeep has been parked for 7 years.

I absolutely feel ya - took me almost 7 years to get mine back on the road, so I know the feeling all too well!! Congrats, don’t stop now!

Thanks for the replies guys. I still have a lot to do, but at least it's operational. I'll be repairing some rust and then painting it soon Shum8, photos would be way to painful at this point.

Won't damage my retinas. I'm sure i've seen a lot worse. Yours probably looks better than mine before I started fixin him up.
